Downtown restaurant robbed this morning

Charleston police say a man with a gun robbed a downtown restaurant Wednesday morning.

The robbery happened at 8:23 a.m. at Firehouse Subs on 357 King Street, spokesman Charles Francis said.

No one was injured.

The suspect is described as a black male, about 6-foot, 180 pounds, between 23 and 28 years old. He had a mustache and goatee. He wore tan pants, a white hooded sweatshirt with black stripes and red Nike tennis shoes. He carried a green book bag, Francis said.
