MONCKS CORNER -- Cypress Gardens gets another tourism boost, this time from London.

A major British television show was filming at the Berkeley County swamp gardens earlier this month for a special on gardens that have been featured in movies.

"The Patriot" and "The Notebook" are a couple of the films that include scenes from Cypress Gardens.

The British "Morning Show" segment also will include a garden in Austria that was featured in "The Sound of Music," as well as locations in Belgium, Germany, Holland and France, according to Cypress Gardens on-site manager Heather Graham, who worked with the crew while they were here.

The show is scheduled to air May 13 in the United Kingdom. Then it will go up on the network's website, itv.com, and Cypress Gardens' website.

ITV is the biggest commercial television network in the United Kingdom, according to its website, and features hits such as "Britain's Got Talent."

It's not at all unlikely that some of the millions who watch the TV show will want to check out Cypress Gardens when they visit Charleston, a popular international tourist destination, Berkeley County Chamber of Commerce Chief Executive Officer Elaine Morgan said.

"This is huge, for them to pick Cypress Gardens," Morgan said. "People may well check out Cypress Gardens while they're in Charleston. This is how this stuff happens."

Last September, the A&E TV series "Sell This House" shot house makeovers in Charleston and Summerville and picked Cypress Gardens as a backdrop for its opening scenes.
