Baggage scanners to make trip through airport easier

Musicians of the Charleston Symphony Orchestra will present a benefit concert at 8 p.m. Saturday at the (Episcopal) Cathedral of St. Luke and St. Paul, 126 Coming St.

The performance features Haydn's "Military" symphony, the last movement of Beethoven's "Eroica" symphony, and Samuel Barber's beloved "Adagio for Strings."

The concert, a symphony salute to Charleston, will include readings that celebrate the city. Donations are welcome and will help the symphony meet its financial obligations.
