Firefighters on James Island extinguished a small blaze in a house this morning.

The blaze started just after 8 a.m. in a bedroom to the home a 2 Fremont Ave. in Middlesex Village, according to Chief Chris Seabolt of the James Island Fire Department.

Arriving crews found light smoke coming from the bedroom window, and they managed to extinguish the blaze within minutes.

According to Charleston County property records, the house just off Maybank Highway is about 2,200 square feet.

It wasn’t immediately known what caused the fire. No injuries were reported.
