Coroner's office seeks help identifying body

The Charleston County Coroner's Office is requesting the public's help in identifying a body found in the water Thursday between James Island and Kiawah Island near Chapman Creek.

Coroner Rae Wooten said a sketch released Saturday is based on facial structure and hairlines. She said her office is trying its best to determine what the man might have looked like.

"We are working with the remains that we have," Wooten said. "If he resembles someone that you know who is not accounted for, then go ahead and give us a call."

Anyone with information is encouraged to call the coroner's office at 746-4030.
