It's shaping up to be a cloudy and potentially rainy week across the Charleston area.

For Monday, partly sunny skies are forecast along with a chance of showers and thunderstorms likely beginning after 9 a.m., according to the National Weather Service. Expect similar conditions in the evening with a low around 76.

The rest of the week is forecast to resemble Monday's projected conditions, with largely cloudy — and potentially rainy — conditions throughout, the service said.

Extended forecast:

Tuesday: Mostly cloudy skies with showers and thunderstorms likely after 4 p.m.; high near 85 with a low around 72. Up to three-quarters an inch of rain possible throughout the day.

Wednesday: Cloudy conditions with a high near 83 with a slight chance of showers and thunderstorms during the day. Cloudy skies lingering into the evening with a 40-percent chance of showers and thunderstorms; low around 73.

Thursday: Mostly cloudy with a high near 86 and a low around 74 along with a 50-percent chance of showers and thunderstorms during the day. At night, mostly cloudy skies are forecast with a 30-percent chance of precipitation.

Friday: With a high near 86, partly sunny skies forecast during the day accompanies by a 40-percent chance of showers and thunderstorms; in the evening, a low around 76.

Saturday: Partly sunny conditions again with a high near 90 along with a slight chance of showers and thunderstorms; mostly cloudy skies in the evening with a low around 76.

Sunday: Partly sunny with a high near 91 with a slight chance of showers and thunderstorms.
