Team in Training sessions planned

The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's Team in Training Program invites participants to fight against blood cancers by raising funds and training as a group to run or walk a full or half-marathon in honor of local patients.

The comprehensive TNT program includes weekly team training sessions under the direction of a certified coach, mentoring from previous members, and clinics on nutrition, shoes and gear, injury prevention and safety. After four to five months of training, team members will be prepared to run or walk a full (26.2 mile) or half (13.1 mile) marathon. Members can choose to participate in events across the country, from Orlando to Myrtle Beach.

Local information meetings will be in the auditorium of the MUSC Wellness Center, 45 Courtenay St., at 6 p.m. Aug. 11, 10 a.m. Aug. 15 and 6 p.m. Aug. 18.
