The Public Charter School Alliance of South Carolina is hosting a series of school development workshops across the state as part of Global Entrepreneurship Week.

The workshops will focus on the framework needed to have a highly effective public charter school with high academic achievement and outstanding operating practices.

It will include information on successful startup practices and the application process. Attendees will learn how to turn their ideas into innovative public charter schools.

The event in Charleston will be from 4 to 6 p.m. Monday, and registration information is available at www.sccharterschools.org/start-up-incubator.

The state has 47 public charter schools serving more than 17,500 public schools students.
