Charleston police say they arrested a woman accused of brazenly stealing a bike from another woman’s garage after they also caught her using a stolen credit card.

Investigators charged Melissa Ann Knors, 28, of Theresa Drive with property crime enhancement and financial transaction card theft in connection with crimes in the Crescent and Country Club neighborhoods, spokesman Charles Francis said.

She is being held in the Al Cannon Detention Center.

Police first responded to a Fairway Drive home on Sept. 10 after a resident reported that a woman entered her garage and took her bicycle. The victim yelled at the woman to stop but the suspect rode away.

Two days later, police responded to a car break-in at a Jamestown Road home. Someone had entered the victim’s car and removed $200 and a credit card from a wallet, Francis said.

Police executed a search warrant at Knor’s apartment Monday after gathering evidence that she had stolen the credit card from the car. Police searching the home found the bicycle stolen from the Fairway Drive garage, Francis said.

Knors is being held at the Sheriff Al Cannon Detention Center.
