A downtown Charleston restaurant plans to reopen after suffering a partial roof collapse during record-setting rain last week.

Coast Bar and Grill plans to open its bar and patio at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, according to Kinsey Rogers, marketing manager for Holy City Hospitality, which operates Coast and several area establishments. The reopening is contingent on a meeting with city building officials.

The main dining room will remain closed for repairs, Rogers said.

The collapse occurred around 2 p.m. Friday while restaurant staff were preparing for 5:30 p.m. dinner service and a storm dropped 2.6 inches of rain on downtown between noon and 2:20 p.m.

No injuries were reported.
