As part of National Missing Children’s Day, the Charleston Police Department welcomes people interested in protecting children’s safety on the Internet to a forum tonight.

The 90-minute Netsmartz Internet Safety for Parents and Guardians program will be at 6 p.m. today at police headquarters at 180 Lockwood Blvd.

Parents, guardians, educators and others are invited. Charleston police investigator Doug Galluccio will be the main presenter

The program provides participants with safety resources, handouts and discussion, a police statement said.

The effort is sponsored by National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.
