City of Charleston police recognized top officers, citizens and volunteers at an annual awards banquet on Wednesday.

Adam Thayer received Police Officer of the Year; Johnette Heyward, Dispatcher of the Year; and Stacy Dallas, Community Service Officer of the Year. Sharon Robinson received Civilian of the Year; William Murton, Forensic Services Technician of the Year; and Irving Gibbs, Fleet Maintainer of the Year. Jill Appleby was the Probationary Police Officer of the Year and Philip J. Conlon Jr. the Reserve Police Officer of the Year.

Edward Lawton was the Team-level Volunteer of the Year, Robert Blair and James Bennett were Volunteers of the Year.

Other awards were for the first three months of this year.

Senior Police Officer George Hildebidle received Police Officer of the Quarter; Donna Caldwell, Dispatcher of the Quarter; Sgt. Jerry Roberts, Forensic Services Technician of the Quarter; Police Officer Kay Wang, Community Service Officer of the Quarter; Steve Thomas, Fleet Maintainer of the Quarter; and Sonia Gathers, Civilian of the Quarter.

Matthew D. Filmore was Citizen of the Quarter and Brandon D. Lamas Volunteer of the Quarter.
