A 39-year-old Charleston man was arrested following a shooting Friday night that left another man dead.

Dominick Thrower, a Norman Street resident faces one count each of murder and possession of a weapon during the commission of a violent crime, police said Saturday.

Officers were dispatched at 11 p.m. Friday to the scene, also on Norman, police said. 

The victim was identified as Johnny Robinson Jr., a 51-year-old Charleston resident, according to the Charleston County Coroner's Office. Robinson died at the scene of a gunshot wound.

Robinson's death is the fourth homicide for the Charleston Police Department this year and the 25th in the tri-county.
