Authorities have identified burned human remains found behind a home off Parkers Ferry Road in Charleston County earlier this month.

Louis Richie Cadden, 31, was the victim of the March 6 homicide at 6966 Parkers Ferry Road, according to the Charleston County Coroner's Office.

The Charleston County Sheriff's Office has arrested five people in connection with Cadden's death.

Deputies were called to the home March 15 after someone alerted law enforcement, according to documents released by law enforcement. They found charred bones in a burn pile behind the home.

Patrick Lee Gregory, 28, and his girlfriend, Sarah Suzan Kelley, 30, were arrested later that day as they drove through Berkeley County, authorities said.

According to affidavits, Gregory shot Cadden and thought his body would never be found. He has been charged with murder and possessing a firearm in a violent crime.

But he told someone who told authorities, court documents stated.

Four witnesses eventually came forward, according to the documents.

Kelley is accused of helping Gregory burn the remains and faces one count of being an accessory to murder, according to authorities.

Ralph Davis McClenney, 34, Brian Scott Edwards, 26, and Sarah Ann Giggleman, 30, also face charges of accessory after murder and destruction of human remains.
