GOOSE CREEK -- Two men are jailed on charges that they sold stolen firearms to undercover officers.

The Berkeley County Sheriff's Office and Goose Creek police cooperated on an undercover buy and in making the arrests Thursday in a Goose Creek Boulevard parking area, according to a police department report.

Two men and a woman were in the car when the transaction was made, according to the report. It was unclear Tuesday whether the woman remains charged or incarcerated, and neither law enforcement agency could clear up the matter.

The two men are being held at the Hill-Finklea Detention Center in Moncks Corner. According to the police report and online jail records, Eddie Casey Jay Gaskins, 26, of Bethera Road, Cordesville, is charged with receiving stolen goods, second-degree assault and battery and third-degree assault and battery. His bail stands at $16,092.50.

It was not immediately known if the assault charges are related to the gun-sales case.

Mark Patrick Williams, 22, of Butter Road, Bonneau, is charged with receiving stolen goods valued at more than $2,000 and less than $10,000. His bail was set at $10,000.

The report said that while the transaction was in progress, authorities surrounded the vehicle and arrested the suspects.
