BI-LO Charities on Tuesday presented checks to 13 local nonprofit organizations.

The event at the Charleston Maritime Center was part of BI-LO’s 10 Days of Giving campaign, said Todd Rogers, advertising and communication manager. BI-LO will give $4.7 million to more than 300 nonprofit organizations in South Carolina, North Carolina, Georgia and Tennessee on 10 days over the next month.

The company’s charitable arm raised the $4.7 million at its June golf tournament fundraiser in Greenville.

At Tuesday’s event, BI-LO gave more than $137,000 to the following 13 Charleston-area groups that address children’s needs, education and hunger relief:
