The Gibbes Museum of Art welcomes families to its "Artistic Expression" themed Community Day on Feb. 25 with complimentary admission and free activities from 10 a.m.-1 p.m.
Families can enjoy the exhibitions on view, hands-on art activities and face painting throughout the morning. Special performances include the Charleston Symphony Orchestra Woodwind Quintet's presentation of Musical Olympics in the Rotunda from 11-11:30 a.m. and a performance by the Charleston Argentine Tango Society on the front steps of the museum from noon-1 p.m.
Sponsored by Roper St. Francis Healthcare, Community Days are held quarterly to offer visitors an opportunity to experience the Gibbes' programming free of charge. Those attending also may view two special exhibitions, "The Art of Alfred Hutty: Woodstock to Charleston" in the Main Gallery and "Jill Hooper: Contemporary Realist" in the Rotunda Galleries.
