The South Carolina Aquarium announced Monday it received a $380,000 gift from the New York-based Samuel Freeman Charitable Trust and a $10,000 grant from TD Charitable Foundation.

The Samuel Freeman donation will be used for conservation and education programs as the four-story tourist attraction overlooking Charleston Harbor enters its second decade.

The TD Charitable Foundation money will be used for the city-owned facility's Structured School Program, which allows children from across the state, many of whom are disadvantaged, to see first-hand conservation efforts at the aquarium.
