Chef Nathan Davenport has been perfecting his seafood dishes these last few months, and his new restaurant Balao is finally open at 14 N. Market. 

The second floor of Burwell's Stone Fire Grill on Market Street has been renovated to allow for an open bar to serve both inside and outside seating. The menu focuses on fresh, locally sourced seafood. 

Back in February, Davenport told us he intended to give diners an opportunity to eat a chef-driven meal without having to pinch pennies. “I’d love to get industry folks in here where they can enjoy good food without the high prices of fine dining.”

Balao opens at 4 p.m. today, and with every known restaurant downtown packed because of Bridge Run weekend, this might be a good place to sneak in this weekend.
