GREER — Officials say an AirTran Airways flight bound from Charlotte, N.C., to Atlanta made an emergency landing at Greenville-Spartanburg International Airport after one of the plane’s engines failed.
Airport spokeswoman Rosylin Weston says AirTran flight 311suffered an engine failure around 7:30 a.m. Wednesday.
Weston says the flight landed safely at the airport in Greer about 10 minutes later. Another airplane was being flown in from Atlanta to take the 121 passengers to their destination.
There was no information on what caused the engine to fail. An AirTran spokesman did not immediately return a message Wednesday.
