Academic Magnet girls soccer defeats Oceanside in last region game

Kaylin Morris, team co-captain and junior at Academic Magnet High School, with the ball during the game against Oceanside Collegiate Academy on April 27. Academic Magnet beat Oceanside 2-1. Bryanna Oliver-Reed from Academic Magnet scored in the first minute with an assist from Sophie McLean. Caley Jacobs scored the second goal for Academic Magnet. Oceanside scored in the last minute, making the final score 2-1. Despite the loss, Oceanside is first in the region and Academic Magnet is second. The first round of the region 8-AAA playoffs begin May 3 with Academic Magnet versus Wacammaw High School and Oceanside against Georgetown High School.
