On May 21 from 6-8 p.m., Bishop England High School celebrated the Class of 2020 by hosting their Senior Day. The celebration fell within the school's Senior Week they designed to recognize the entire graduating class for it's accomplishments.
The school orchestrated a seamless pickup system and social distancing guidelines that required students to remain in their cars. A guest DJ played music and banners lined the road in celebration of all of the student's accomplishments. Attendees donned their Bishop England spirit by decorating their cars, making signs and wearing green and white.
Alumni, staff, faculty, parents and students lined Seven Farms Drive on Thursday evening as the seniors drove through to pick up their "goodie bags" filled with caps and gowns, graduation announcements, yearbooks, immunization forms and other special end-of-year tribute gifts. Members of the National Honor Society received their stoles and Legacy Society inductees (graduates who have a parent or grandparent who is a BEHS graduate) received their pins.
Graduation will now be held on Friday, June 19 at 6:30 p.m. on the football field at Bishop England High School. Each senior will be provided four tickets for the ceremony.
The school will live-stream the commencement exercises so that extended family can participate. In the event of inclement weather, the rain date for graduation is Saturday, June 20, at 6:30 p.m. on the football field.
