East Cooper Meals on Wheels is pleased to announce success in their MatchingFund.org fundraising campaign, raising more than $20,000 for the nonprofit organization. During the month of March, East Cooper Meals on Wheels appealed to donors to consider making their contributions within that monthlong campaign period. Success in reaching the set $10,000 goal amount resulted in an additional $10,000 provided through the MatchingFund.org.
It is forecasted the senior population of South Carolina will double over the next 15 years. Thus, the need for meals will continue to increase dramatically in the years to come. East Cooper Meals on Wheels works diligently to secure resources now, so that the organization can continue responding to the needs of the community in the future.
“This campaign was a surprise gift of an opportunity to raise additional support for our ongoing service to the East Cooper community,” Meals on Wheels CEO George Roberts. “The funds will be especially instrumental as we continue to implement a new medical referral meal delivery program to individuals who are recovering from surgery and illness.”
East Cooper Meals on Wheels serves nutritious meals to all homebound Charleston-area residents east of the Cooper River. There are no restrictions based on age or income. There is no waiting list, and there is never a charge for meals. For more information, visit www.ecmow.org.
The MatchingFund.org is a 501(c)(3) charitable organization. The MatchingFund.org maintains funds in a matching pool that can be used by the board of directors for fundraisers. The nonprofits and causes that the board provides matching funds for are determined on a case-by-case basis. To qualify, a cause needs to have a compelling critical need.
Tax-deductible donations can be made directly to The MatchingFund.org. Angel donations made to the general pool or to a specific cause can sponsor fundraisers across multiple years and be claimed as a deduction for the year they were donated.
