Thursday, June 6, marked the 75th anniversary of World War II’s D-Day invasion − the largest seaborne invasion in U.S. military history. Patriots Point welcomed 10 D-Day veterans aboard the USS Yorktown to share their first-hand experiences during the invasion of Normandy, France on June 6, 1944.

All D-Day veterans in participation were from South Carolina. A list of the honorees reverently dubbed “The Greatest Generation” can be found online in the 75th anniversary of D-Day photo gallery at moultrienews.com/photos.
