Palmetto Christian Academy announced Coach Alex Fritts as the new head coach for the varsity girls soccer team.

Fritts played at Webster University where he was a three-year captain and three-year All-Conference selection as a defender. Upon graduation with a degree in business administration, Fritts joined the Webster coaching staff and was soon promoted to the position of associate head coach. During his coaching tenure at Webster, the team qualified for four NCAA tournament appearances over 11 seasons.

After moving to Charleston from St. Louis, Fritts started coaching with the Cainhoy Athletic Soccer Club. His team (the 2009s) captured nine local/regional tournament championships, including South Carolina's Academy Cup in 2021, and the team ranks in the top 200 among all clubs nationally for its age group. He holds a U.S. Soccer National "D" coaching license.

Fritts is looking forward to the season ahead at Palmetto Christian. "I am excited to start as PCA's new varsity girls' coach this Spring. I knew Coach Paul Henson (PCA's former coach) from coaching locally in the same club and I plan to carry on his positive, supportive approach to guiding PCA's girls soccer program. For me, I am most looking forward to helping PCA's student-athletes continue on their Christ-centered journey through respect for all elements of competition and fair play," said Fritts.

Palmetto Christian Academy competes in SCISA AA athletics.
