A 40-foot Christmas tree, photos with Santa and horse drawn carriage rides are coming to Mount Pleasant Towne Centre, transforming the retail destination into the a holiday hub.

Beginning Nov. 20 with the annual Lights Up tree lighting, the open-air retail spot will be activated with merry moments and décor galore.

“We look forward to welcoming the community back to the property for our most exciting event of the year, as we regain a sense of normalcy and celebrate all of our annual events live and in person this season,” said Kathleen Herrmann, marketing director at Mount Pleasant Towne Centre. “In 2020, the pandemic challenged us and we had to pivot to a virtual option for our annual Lights Up tree lighting. This year, we are more ready than ever to offer community-filled experiences to honor our traditions and celebrate new ones.”

Visitors can stop and pose for a holiday-themed photo in front of the fluorescent 22-foot reindeer located by Barnes and Noble, and the life-size “JOY” sign located by the main fountain. Overhead twinkling lights will be strung along Belk Drive.
