The 80-year-old man accused of improperly keeping 55 animals at his home in Huger agreed today to give up control of the animals seized from him to the Charleston Animal Society.

Carroll Haseldon also agreed to allow the county animal control officials to make periodic checks ont he animals still at his property.

Sheriff's deputies responding to a domestic dispute call May 17 arrived at his house in rural Huger. There they found about 30 chickens and the other animals, court records shows.
