The Magnolia Plantation and Gardens' third annual winter garden festival opens this weekend. It is set for a six-weekend run.
The attraction was at one point only open in the winter, its displays of camellias giving garden lovers a bit of color during the dreary winter months.
Now the attraction is open all year, but officials somehow want the plantation to again be known as a winter garden destination.
The annual event features not only tours of the plantation's renowned camellia collection but an ongoing lecture series on a variety of gardening topics on weekends through the end of February.
