LANCASTER — Authorities say a Lancaster County deputy eating dinner at a restaurant has been shot in the stomach during a robbery.

Sheriff Barry Faile said Brandon Rollins was on break with two fellow drug officers around 7 p.m. Thursday when 19-year-old Rodrick Caskey came inside the Shrimp Boat restaurant with a gun and demanded money.

Faile says the officers tried to stop the robbery and Rollins was shot in the stomach. The 11-year veteran of the force is in stable condition.

The sheriff says Caskey was arrested a short time later walking down the street. A bullet grazed his face and he was taken to the hospital for treatment before being taken into custody.

It wasn’t clear if Caskey had an attorney.
