Obituary Kashmire Vought

Kashmire Vought of Summerville, SC passed away in Trident Regional Medical Center on October 3, 2021. "Kaz" was born in Somerset, Pa on January 27, 1992. She graduated in 2013 from Ashley Ridge High School and was a resident of Coastal Regional Center in Summervlle.

On June 28, 2004, Kashmire's life changed due to a motor vehicle accident. Prior to that she played soccer, was in the gifted and talented program at Shanksville School in Pa. She was also a cheerleader and score keeper for the Eagles Softball Team in Somerset. She always wanted to make people happy.

Afterward, she continued to spend time with her Mom, and was crowned Mayfest Queen at Coastal Center. She participated in Swamp Fest at Ashley Ridge High School from 2008-13, in Summerville Miracle League for 2 years. and enjoyed activities with her loving caregivers. As her final, selfless gift based on wishes she made known when she was young, Kaz donated her body to MUSC Anatomical Gift Program.

Kaz is survived by both of her parents, Jennifer Barkley of Goose Creek, SC and Dennis (Kim) Vought of Somerset, Pa; her sister, Samantha and her wife, Julie Lawings, and niece Gracie of Texas, as well as many relatives over the US, and was loved by people around the world. A Celebration of Life will be held at Coastal Regional Center Memorial Garden at 9995 Miles-Jamison Rd, in Summerville at 2 pm on Wed, Oct 6. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to  the The Parent/Guardian Association at Coastal Center.  

A Celebration of Life will be announced at a later date in Somerset, Pa.
