Absentee voting for Nov. 5 election underway in Dorchester County

Residents have until Nov. 4 to vote absentee at the Dorchester County Elections and Voter Registration Office located at 201 Johnston Street in St. George. Absentee voting will only be available at this location between the hours of 8:30 a.m. and 5 p.m. Monday — Friday.

For those living in Summerville and North Charleston, residents can vote In-Person Absentee at the Adult Learning Center located at 1325 Boonehill Road in Summerville and at the Community Center located at 9006 Dorchester Road in North Charleston between October 28 and Nov. 1. Absentee voting will only be available at these locations between the hours of 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Voters that wish to vote absentee by mail may request an absentee application:

The request must be made no later than October 25 and may be submitted by the voter or the voter’s immediate relative. The deadline to return the absentee application is 2 p.m. on Nov. 1. The last day a ballot will be mailed to the voter is Nov. 1.

All ballots must be received by Dorchester County Election Commission no later than 7 p.m. on Election Day.
