Summerville woman to compete in 2019 Miss South Carolina competition

Addie Ledbetter, a 23-year-old native of Summerville is the current Miss Orangeburg County 2019. A second-year nursing student at Trident Technical College and a 2017 Alumna of Converse College, Addie is the daughter of James and Phyllis Ledbetter of Summerville.

“I am honored to serve as Miss Orangeburg County,” Ledbetter said.

“As a returning contestant, I wanted to represent a truly incredible community. Orangeburg is exactly that and more.”

She has been an advocate for the Orangeburg community through her personal platform, “Empowerment Through T.E.A.S.,” a girls mentoring program.

“Over the past six months, I have worked extremely hard to become a part of Orangeburg County.

I have taken it upon myself to serve the community so that people know the most important part of the Miss America Organization, Service. I danced the night away at Orangeburg Wilkinson High School’s Prom, taught math problems and read to elementary-schoolers at Holly Hill, and I ran the Festival of Roses 5k in support of drowning prevention.

This is just a glimpse of the work I have done as a titleholder. I have promoted my platform Empowerment Through T.E.A.S. and demonstrated how tea parties and mentoring girls should never go out of style. Throughout this journey, I always tell my girls and the people that I meet, ‘Dream Big & Dream Often.’ I am looking forward to representing such a diverse, inspiring community that is Orangeburg County at Miss South Carolina,” Ledbetter said.

The CROWN Group is the licensed sponsor of the Miss Orangeburg County/Miss Garden City & Miss Orangeburg County Teen/Miss Garden City Teen Scholarship Organization and is part of the Miss America Scholarship Organization.
