COLUMBIA — An Italian citizen who spent more than three years on the run after he was charged in a cocaine conspiracy that included Thomas Ravenel plans to admit he provided cocaine to the former South Carolina treasurer.
Court documents filed Tuesday show Pasquale Pellicoro will plead guilty to conspiracy to possess with the intent to distribute cocaine at a Wednesday hearing in federal court in Columbia.
Authorities say Pellicoro failed to show up in court in 2007 after he was charged along with several others for supplying cocaine to Ravenel. He stayed on the run until October 2010 when he was arrested by the FBI in France.
Pellicoro faces up to 20 years in prison. But Ravenel and others in the case served less than a year behind bars.
