MYRTLE BEACH - Organizers say the father-son golf tournament teeing off on the South Carolina coast is the largest tournament of its kind in the world.

Hundreds of father-son teams tee off Thursday at a dozen courses in the Myrtle Beach area.

The three-day, 54-hole four-ball, stroke play tournament continues through Saturday. Last year, there were 1,600 contestants.

Entrants don't necessarily have to be a father and son to participate. Organizers say any type of father-son relationship is fine, including grandfathers and grandsons, uncles and nephews and fathers and sons-in-law.
