PICKENS — While some people may choose to sleep in during the Labor Day weekend, some South Carolinians will get up before the crack of dawn to take a hike.
Those who choose to will be up at 3 a.m. on Saturday for a unique moonlight hike to the top of Table Rock in Table Rock State Park in Pickens County.
The hikers will see the forest at night and then, sitting on the outcropping of rock at the top, will watch the sun rise. The hike winds up about 10 a.m.
Forecasters call for favorable weather with lows in the lower 50s and partly cloudy skies overnight Friday.
