GREENVILLE — Carmella’s Café and Dessert Bar, a Charleston-based restaurant, is expanding into the Upstate.

The cafe is leasing almost 2,400 square feet in the Camperdown development in downtown Greenville. The storefront is at the bottom of the stairs of the development, overlooking Falls Park and the Reedy River, and will include a large covered patio, according to a press release from real estate agency Colliers.

The restaurant is aiming for an August opening, Colliers Senior Brokerage Associate Lance Byars told The Post and Courier.

The original cafe in downtown Charleston sits on the corner of East Bay Street and Cumberland Street. It serves gelato, sorbetto, cakes, pastries, pizza, sandwiches and has a full bar. The same menu will be coming to its second location.

“Greenville is a vibrant, growing town and is an ideal location to open our second location,” Carmella’s owner Brian Solari said in a statement.
