ANDERSON — The body of a Greenville teen has been pulled from Lake Hartwell a day after he disappeared beneath the surface.

A diver found the body of 18-year-old Ri’Shun Sullivan in about 15 feet of water early Tuesday afternoon.

Sullivan had been swimming with friends when he began struggling around 3 p.m. Monday.

Anderson police Sgt. Tony Tilley says Sullivan and his friends were within the park’s designated swimming area. A sign near the area’s beach warns swimmers that no lifeguards are on duty.

Tilley says family members said Sullivan was a good swimmer.

Investigators think Sullivan became tired after spending more than an hour in the water.
