GREENVILLE — The Greenville Republican Party has rebuked U.S. Sen. Lindsey Graham for what it calls his cooperation and support of President Barack Obama and the Democrats' liberal agenda.

The party said in a resolution on Monday that the South Carolina senator has voted for a bank bailout program that will increase the national debt, in favor of two of Obama's liberal U.S. Supreme Court nominees and has promoted amnesty for illegal immigrants.

It also says Graham has "repeatedly demonstrated contempt and arrogance" to GOP members who support party beliefs.

The party says Graham will no longer be invited to attend Greenville GOP meetings and events.

Kevin Bishop, a spokesman for Graham, issued a statement early Wednesday that said Graham believes it is "time for Republicans to pull together."
