GREENVILLE -- Authorities say a Greenville County man died of a possible heart attack after intruders kicked in his door, held him at gunpoint and robbed him.
Greenville County Deputy Coroner Barry Wright says 50-year-old Amos Richard Valentine died Thursday night after going into cardiac arrest at his apartment.
Deputies say Valentine was home with his wife and a friend Thursday night when intruders kicked open the door, held them at gunpoint and forced them into a bathroom. The coroner says Valentine went into cardiac arrest at the apartment and died at the hospital.
Deputies say no shots were fired and no one else was injured. The intruders took cell phones from the victims so they would not be able to call for help. The Greenville County Sheriff’s Office is investigating.
