The Georgetown School of Arts and Sciences hosted the 3rd annual Glo-N-Go 5K on Aug. 4. The runners began at the corner of Prince and Cleland, through downtown Georgetown, around East Bay Park and back to the starting line.
The event started as a way to get people excited for the start of a new school year, according to Gary Gates, the school headmaster.
The money raised through the event helps the school pay for tuition of students who can’t afford it. Over 60 people participated in the event this year, including Mayor Brendon Barber and his wife.
