MURRELLS INLET — A Murrells Inlet man was arrested Nov. 17 in connection with a child exploitation investigation after more than 3,100 images and/or video files depicting minors engaged in sexual activity were allegedly found in his possession.

Stephen Bradley, 51, was booked into the Georgetown County Detention Center on a charge of second-degree sexual exploitation of a minor. Computers and other electronic devices were seized when Georgetown County Sheriff's Office Criminal Investigation Division and SWAT team executed a search warrant on a Murrells Inlet residence.

Bradley was reportedly the sole resident of the home, according to a sheriff's office press release.

Bradley's arrest was the culmination of months of work by county investigators attached to the South Carolina's Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force.

“I am proud of the work being done to rid our communities of these useless individuals who prey upon our children,” Georgetown County Sheriff Carter Weaver said in the release.

No bail had been set for Bradley as of 4:30 p.m. Nov. 17.
