The frozen food aisle is stocked with plenty of great ice cream options, but summertime calls for an after-dinner trip with the family to get an ice cream treat, whether it's to a cart on the corner or a neighborhood soda fountain. From a root beer float at the Pitt Street Pharmacy in Mount Pleasant's Old Village (111 Pitt St.) to the exceptionally absurd Not Fried Chicken drumstick from Life Raft Treats (instagram.com/life.raft.treats), Charleston has no shortage of ice cream options. We like to get a gelato sundae at Beardcat's Sweet Shop on Sullivan's Island (2063 Middle St.),  an over-the-top milkshake made from Cirsea ice cream at Betty's Eatery (915 Houston Northcutt Blvd.), a blueberry ice cream sandwich from Wich Cream (instagram.com/wichcream) or sometimes just a simple old scoop of handmade chocolate in a waffle cone from Park Circle Creamery (1044 E. Montague).
