Home Grown is a new addition to Victory Brewing’ s extensive portfolio of exceptional ales and lagers. This one is a session-style India Pale lager — that is, a beer that should have satisfying flavor without excessive alcohol.

This beer is straw-colored and creates a creamy collar of foam when poured. The aroma is citrus and pine. The body is not thin and watery like many session-type beers. The flavor profile features a light but noticeable malt backbone with mild hop notes of pine, citrus and tropical fruit. This beer’s ingredients are skillfully balanced for a lager-like smoothness that makes it a pleasant and highly drinkable beer. In short, this is a well-crafted beer that delivers tasty hop flavor without the vast bitterness and alcohol of most IPAs — a good introduction to trendy hop flavor or when the time is not right for a big IPA. Cheers! — Gerald Jowers
