One of the last remaining self-serve frozen yogurt shops in the Midlands has closed, 32 Degrees Soft Serv, in Trenholm Plaza, closed as of Jan. 27. The shop will not be relocating, removing the only 32 Degrees operation in South Carolina.
Krispy Kreme Hearts You
After NECCO, the candy company that dutifully put out those chalky conversation hearts — that no one ever actually ate and enjoyed — went under last year, Krispy Kreme rushed in to fill the sugary message void. The Southern doughnut maker that has been exploring quirky new approaches to doughnuttery will offer heart-shaped doughnuts, iced in the same iconic pastel colors the candy hearts came in, with short red icing messages. The special doughnuts will be available from Jan. 30 through Feb. 14, Valentine’s Day.
The doughnuts have updated phrases like DM ME and ALL THE FEELS, but still have some classics like BE MINE. The hearts are filled with cake batter, strawberries and kreme, raspberry, or chocolate filling. These sweet treats are available at participating Krispy Kremes.
Walmart Launches Grocery Delivery
Grocery delivery has been contained to traditional grocery stores like Publix, Kroger, and Whole Foods in bigger cities and communities so far, but a third party delivery service has finally stepped up to bring the option to rural towns and smaller communities.
The retail giant Walmart is partnering with Roadie, a third-party delivery service that couriers more than groceries. The Roadie.com website has options for instant quotes on the cost of the delivery, with factors like size of the load and the distance, giving a price for same-day delivery by combining Walmart’s semi-new curbside pickup service with Roadie’s nearby drivers. Find more information at roadie.com/business/grocery-delivery-service.
