GOOSE CREEK — Three dogs and a cat were killed in a house fire this morning.
Three fire departments responded to 504 Torrington Court near U.S. 176 about 10:10 a.m. Heavy smoke was coming from the attic when firefighters arrived, Pine Ridge Fire Capt. Robert Gregory said. Whitesville and Caromi fire departments also resposnded.
Gregory said it appears the fire started in the kitchen and was primarily contained to that area of the house. No one was home at the time.
The cause is under investigation but does not appear to be suspicious, he said.
The Carolina Lowcountry Chapter of the American Red Cross has been called to the scene.
