We are eating roasted fingerling potatoes sprinkled with Olive Salt, made with sea salt and black olives. Along with a variety of smoked salts, a huge selection of spices and herbs, as well as teas, The Spice and Tea Exchange at 170-A Church Street is a place all cooks should know about. Owner Stacey Shea also can point out a variety of spice mixtures that you can purchase in any amount you need.

If you want a tasty hot sub, try Ji’s Pizza on Johns Island. It’s tucked in the corner beside Food Lion on Maybank Highway, and they make subs with all the savory ingredients they can find. You will also find some of the largest pizzas in the Lowcountry (think 30 inches). They make each pizza by hand and they will flip them in the air for you. People from as far away as West Ashley come to order the pizzas at game time. No wonder, when one will feed a family of four.
