Do you have a favorite food memory with your mother?

Maybe it's something she taught you to make: a dish that's been passed down like a family heirloom. Maybe it is just time spent together in the kitchen. Maybe it's a funny tale of woe, the cooking disaster that Mom can't live down, no matter how long ago it happened.

Serious or silly, experiences through the lens of food and cooking can create unique bonds for a lifetime.

In honor of Mother's Day this year, we want to collect and share those special stories from daughters and sons alike.

If you have a story to tell, please do so in 250 words or less and send it to us. Photos are welcome, too.

We'll feature the best of those stories in the Food section on April 29.

By e-mail: with the subject line "Cooking With Mom."

By U.S. mail: Address to Teresa Taylor, Cooking With Mom, The Post and Courier, 134 Columbus St., Charleston, SC 29403-4800.

Deadline for submissions is April 23.
