Southern Twist Cafe is paying special attention to brunch, but the new North Charleston restaurant is making sure not to neglect its weekday clientele: The restaurant is now offering a $12 lunch buffet.

Still, chef Brian Washington’s heart is with his Sunday menu, which manager Kyna Mathis says is unique to the neighborhood. “Brunch in North Charleston is underserved,” Mathis told The Post and Courier. “I don’t feel like going all the way to Mount Pleasant for Page’s. I love it, but it’s a long way from Goose Creek. It’s a long way from Ladson.”

So Washington is now preparing fish-and-grits, pancakes and French toast for a brunch that also features live music.

“He will remix every Southern dish you desire,” the restaurant tweeted in advance of its first Sunday service.

Located at 5245 Dorchester Road, Southern Twist is open 11 a.m.-10 p.m. Monday-Saturday and 7 a.m.-3 p.m. Sundays. For more information, call 843-532-9859.
