As Yelp Charleston’s community manager, Scotty Carpenter is frequently the first person to write up a new business for Yelp. But when he filed his review of Toffino’s, he did so with feeling.
“Toffino’s is one of the only places in Myrtle Beach that I actually yearn for living around Charleston,” he wrote. “Then I heard that they just opened up a Mount Pleasant location. I couldn’t believe my eyes.”
Carpenter heartily approved of his Buffalo chicken Philly, one of nine Italian-style hot sandwiches on the menu. Toffino’s is also serving breadsticks, salads, cold hoagies, pizza and pastries such as cannoli and sflogliatelle, made according to family recipes with a century-old pedigree.
Phil Pecora in 1992 opened Toffino’s in Myrtle Beach; the restaurant has developed a loyal following among retirees and other South Jersey expats.
Located at 1903 S.C. Highway 41, No. 201, Toffino’s is open 11 a.m.-9 p.m. Tuesday-Thursday; 11 a.m.-10 p.m. Friday-Saturday; and 11 a.m.-9 p.m. Sunday. The restaurant is closed on Mondays.
