Apartment A

Name aside, The Taco Spot has always served more than tacos. The bandbox location on Coming Street sells quesadillas and burritos. But booze and spicy beef tamales were never available before the opening of the restaurant’s new adjunct, a stand-alone enterprise known as Apartment A.

“This has been a very long journey for us, and we feel so lucky, grateful and blessed to be in business,” owners Jason Vaughn and Lindsey Collier wrote on The Taco Spot’s Facebook page.

According to the owners, it took two years to get paperwork for the new venue in order. Apartment A on April 29 started pouring cocktails, beer and wine.

In addition to serving The Taco Spot’s full menu, Apartment A is also offering nachos and dips to match the Shiner Bock, including Bob Armstrong dip, the classic Tex-Mex blend of queso, ground beef, guacamole and sour cream.

Apartment A is located at 221A Coming St. For more information, visit thetacospot.com or call 720-1888. The restaurant is open 5-10 p.m. Tuesday-Saturday.
